Counselors

Carly Rowan, Ph.D.

I believe healing begins in relationship — in spaces where people feel safe enough to slow down, be fully seen, and begin again.

I am Carly Rowan, a Licensed Professional Counselor devoted to walking alongside children, adolescents, and families through life’s more complex and tender seasons. Whether a child is struggling with emotional regulation, a teen feels overwhelmed by anxiety, or a family is experiencing disconnection, I approach each client with steadiness, warmth, and thoughtful care.

My work is rooted in the belief that every individual carries inherent dignity and worth. Often, the behaviors that concern us most are not signs of defiance or weakness, but signals of unmet needs and unspoken emotions. When those underlying experiences are gently understood, meaningful growth becomes possible.

I specialize in supporting individuals and families navigating autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, and relational challenges. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I look beneath the surface to understand patterns, attachment dynamics, and emotional regulation needs. My goal is not simply symptom reduction — it is strengthening resilience, connection, and confidence.

Education & Professional Background

I completed my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at Liberty University, where my academic and clinical work focused on relational healing and developmentally informed care. I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from LeTourneau University and my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Tabor College.

I remain actively engaged in professional development as a member of the American Counseling Association and have been recognized locally as a DFW Child Mom-Approved Therapist, reflecting trust from families within the community.

Beyond individual therapy, I have facilitated social skills and relational development groups and provided educational support for parents navigating new diagnoses within their families. Supporting caregivers is one of the most meaningful aspects of my work, as lasting change often begins within the home.

My Approach

My approach is relational, intentional, and thoughtfully paced.

With children, I integrate play-based and expressive methods that allow them to communicate in ways that feel natural and safe. With adolescents and adults, I draw from attachment-focused and emotion-centered strategies to illuminate patterns, strengthen regulation, and deepen insight. Therapy with me is neither rushed nor overly clinical. It is structured and purposeful, yet grounded in compassion. I believe clients deserve both warmth and competence — a space where they feel supported, but also gently guided toward growth.Parents are considered collaborative partners in the therapeutic process. I work closely with families to provide clarity, practical tools, and emotional understanding that extend well beyond the therapy room.

While my work is grounded in evidence-based practice, it is also shaped by humility and grace. I strive to reflect patience, respect, and care in every interaction. For those who desire it, faith may be integrated into the counseling process in a manner that feels natural, thoughtful, and aligned with your values. Healing is rarely about “fixing” what is broken. More often, it is about strengthening what is already present and restoring connection where it has been strained.

Packer

Healing does not always unfold through words alone. At times, it begins with presence. Packer, my trained therapy dog, is a gentle and steady part of the therapeutic environment at Healing Grace Counseling Group. His calm demeanor and intuitive nature often help children and adolescents feel more at ease, especially during the early stages of building trust. For some clients, sitting beside a quiet companion lowers anxiety and softens emotional defenses. For others, Packer provides a bridge — creating a sense of safety that makes deeper work possible.

Animal-assisted therapy is supported by research demonstrating benefits such as reduced stress responses, improved emotional regulation, and increased engagement in the therapeutic process. More importantly, his presence often helps the room feel welcoming rather than clinical.Packer’s role is never distracting or intrusive. Instead, he contributes to an environment that feels grounded, compassionate, and approachable — aligning with our commitment to mending hearts and minds with care.

A Personal Invitation

Beginning therapy is an act of courage. It is often the first step toward something steadier and more connected. Whether you are seeking support for yourself, your child, or your family, my hope is that you feel both professionalism and compassion from the very beginning. Together, we will work toward mending what feels strained, strengthening resilience, and creating space for growth. If you are ready to begin, I would be honored to walk alongside you.

David Miller

I believe growth happens when people feel both supported and thoughtfully challenged.

I am David Miller, a Licensed Professional Counselor committed to helping individuals and families navigate life’s transitions with clarity, steadiness, and purpose. Whether someone is feeling stuck in familiar patterns, navigating relational strain, or working through emotional stress, I approach counseling with intention and care.

I am passionate about helping clients step outside limiting frames of thinking and gain a broader perspective. Often, meaningful change begins when we slow down long enough to examine the narratives guiding our decisions. My goal is to help clients cultivate insight, responsibility, and resilience in a way that feels empowering rather than overwhelming.

Education & Professional Background

I am currently finishing my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at Liberty University, where my academic work reflects a growing interest in counselor development and the long-term goal of teaching and mentoring future counselors at the university level.

I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from LeTourneau University in 2021 and my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from LeTourneau University in 2019.

In addition to clinical practice, I remain actively engaged in professional development and service within the counseling profession. My interests include supporting adolescents, families, and members of the Veteran community as they navigate emotional challenges, life transitions, and relational growth.

His Approach

My approach to counseling is steady, reflective, and collaborative.

I believe clients deserve both compassion and clarity. In our work together, I strive to create a space where you feel heard and respected, while also being gently encouraged toward growth. Therapy is not simply about symptom relief — it is about developing insight, strengthening decision-making, and building emotional resilience.

With families, I provide consultation and thoughtful feedback designed to improve communication and relational patterns. With individuals, I focus on expanding perspective and developing tools that foster long-term change.

My faith is central to my life and informs the integrity and humility I bring into this profession. For clients who desire it, I am comfortable integrating faith into the counseling process in a way that feels aligned and respectful.
